Every great hunter starts somewhere. This one started with a stuffed crocodile.

A memory. Adult Ares rests by the doorway and thinks: “My first big hunt…”
Back when I was a pup… Puppy Ares faces a large green stuffed crocodile hanging from a cord in the backyard.
The stalk. Ares crouches low and creeps towards the toy: “Stealth mode.”
First contact. Ares taps the crocodile with a paw. “BOOP!” The toy swings.
A quick rethink. Ares hops away from the swinging toy: “Tactical retreat!”
The pounce. Ares leaps towards the crocodile with his paws outstretched: “ATTACK!”
Victory. Ares grips the fallen toy in his mouth: “Gotcha!”
The hero. Ares stands proudly with a paw on the stuffed crocodile: “I saved us all.”
